Charlie Pinson Insurance recently hosted a two day professional education seminar for Kentucky insurance agents. The continueing education required by the Kentucky Department of Insurance, was moderated by local agent Billy Maynard. A dozen insurance professionals attended the courses.
Charlie Pinson reports, "Many people do not realize that Kentucky insurance agents attend regular educational seminars. Through these updates, we stay informed. The more we learn, the more we can help our clients understand their responsibilities and options."
The first day of classes focused on professional ethics. Topics discussed included compliance with commission disclosure, consumer privacy, proper underwriting techniques, and premium submissions. Privacy issues as it relates to Kentucky health insurance and auto insurance were also explored.
Kentucky Workers Compensation was the topic for day two. Agents learned about proper underwriting, submitting workers compensation accident and claim reports, basis for ratings including occupation and loss experiences, understanding workers compensation audits, and how changes in payroll can affect premiums.
Pinson concludes, "Charlie Pinson Insurance is very focused on education issues. Joyce, Mark and myself all completed the ethics and workers compensation classes. It was a pleasure to host professionals from other agencies as well. If we all work together, we can better serve our Kentucky insurance clients needs."
